COLOUR STORIES 7

Hey everyone!  I guess I am still feeling very much like Spring- although the weather today outside my door says otherwise.  It really has been a roller coaster ride of temperatures lately!!  The weather has been very erratic- and I know I am not the only one who thinks so.
Here is a colour story that is relfective of my "spring" feeling mood.  Enjoy!

Have a great day everyone!

COLOUR STORIES 6

I guess with all of this great weather we have been having here in Southern Ontario has gotten me thinking about spring and colour- lots of it.  So here is a Colour Story that is inspired by colour-LOTS OF IT!!!

And for those who think I only work in Benjamin Moore and Farrow and Ball the above is proof  that I don't.  In fact I own many, many fandecks.  In fact in an earlier posting I showed how I make my own fandecks when I can't get the real ones.
Have a great day everyone.

COLOUR STORIES 5

Just a quick post today folks- still dealing with March Break.  The weather here has been glorious.  WAY above normal temps for this time of year.  It has been around 18C.  It should be 4C.  But I will take it.  I LOVE THE WARM WEATHER!!!!  The following Pic is by Eileen Katherine Boyd.  That girl sure knows how to use colour and I LOVE IT!!!

Remember- depending on everyone monitors- colours show up differently.
Hope you enjoyed this colour story.  I was just feeling colourful this week-must have something to do with this awesome weather.
Have a great day everyone.

COLOUR STORIES 4

I found this beautiful dining room on Houzz.  This is such a great website.  I look at it daily for inspiration.  This particular Dining Room is soft and elegant.  It shows a beautiful transitional style.  Hope you enjoy:

Have a great day everyone!

COLOUR STORIES 2

Here is another room for my segment- Colour Stories.  Again I pick a room and then choose the colors I would use in that room.  Todays room is a Bedroom for a young girl:

Again, I went to my fan decks to figure out the colours I think would work in this room.  Yellow is always a tricky colour to suggest.  It could end up looking like Big Bird lives there or be so bright you would need sunglasses to be in there.
Picking a White for any room, especially the trim can be a difficult task as well.  If you don't pick the right white to go with the wall paint it can look just terrrible.  It all comes down to the undertone- the underlying hint of colour within a particular colour. You know what I mean- I am sure you have heard, "That blue is so pretty with it's green undertone."  And depending on how colours relate to each other- this can change how we perceive that colour.  Picking a colour isn't all that easy- if it was, anyone could do it!
Hope you enjoyed this Colour Story.
Have a great day!

COLOUR STORIES

Hey everyone,
Here is a quick post today- a new segment called COLOUR STORIES!  I find one of my favourite rooms and I build a colour scheme around it.
The First Colour Story I am featuring is this kitchen which has been blogged about quite a bit. I can only imagine it is because it is so AWESOME!!  I love the colour of the kitchen cabinetry, the Island, the stools, need I go on?  I especially love the wall colour.  This was an easy one to pick since the colour is known- Benjamin Moore's Wythe Blue- HC 143.  It is their colour of the year for 2012.  I have always loved this colour.  I SO want to incorporate it into my house!  Especially since it rocks the house with RED!!  And we know how much I love red!
Here is my Colour Story:

The colours I picked for this room are my own choice if I were to design in this space.  The only known colour is the wall colour- although I would have picked Wythe Blue anyways- it is one of my favs afterall!
The clours picked were done so sitting around with my fandecks spread out all around me.  I hope you like what I came up with?
Hope this gave a little inspiration!
Have a great day.
