Of course I don't mean the temperature, I mean the colour. I love Red! It is one of my favourite colours ever! I have wanted to do a red dining room for so long. But the problem with people like myself is it is so hard to commit! Not for the same reasons as most people when decorating though. My problem is that I see so many things I want to do. I and others like me get very "split personality" about decorating about our own house. It is so much easier to decorate someone elses home than my own. I see the possibilities with many diferent ways I could go.
Now, I bought a can of paint from Habitat for Humanity. I can't say enough about that place. Where else can you find great building supplies at considerably marked down costs?? Plus you are helping others out. The can of paint cost me $10.00. Can't go wrong with that! I bought:
The colour is Hottie P5086-75 by Para. It is a full on beautiful red. It definitely has a blue undertone to it, not orange or yellow. But it isn't super deep either. I think if I choose to put it in the dining room it will just cause the room to glow. Plus they say red in a dining room is good psychologically!! It is supposed to make you hungry- not good if you are on a diet though!!! I always do up sample boards before I paint a whole room. It is the simplest thing in the world to do. That way I get the full effect of the colour. You can see what I am talking about in the 1st photo. It even looks great with the trim/trim colour. So I got to thinking about other red dining rooms. Here are some pics:
Good Ol' Martha. You have to hand it to her. She really knows how to rock a room!
Or do I paint my dining room chairs red??? Hmmmm...... decisions, decisions.........
I love this room so much I gave you guys 2 different ones to look at. I LOVE Windsor Smith. And I especially love these Chinese Chippendale chairs. And don't even get me started about the kitchen and the dining room.
So that is my dilemma. When I get it figured out I will let you know!
Have a great day everyone.
