ARCHITECTS/BUILDERS SERIES 4

There is an old saying, "God is in the details".  If that is true then Wadia Associates has been truly blessed.  In doing what I do I come across a lot of design either by magazines, online publications or websites.  And since there is so much out there one tends to get over saturated.  So at this stage of my life it can take something pretty special to get me to the point where I am speechless (just ask my friends).  When I saw Wadia Associates work I thought.... well.... actually I was quite breathless and speechless.  I mean.... the detail.... the refinement..... the beauty of their work is beyond anything.  Pretty big praise I know, but one that is so warranted.  I wanted to share with you some of their amazing work:

Picturesque Queen Anne Manor:

I could sit here an go on and on about how gorgeous these homes are but really...... they speak for themselves.  But what I will say is how beautifully they are executed and how they are brimming with detail.

Old Meets New:

Victorian Refinement:

English Arts and Crafts:

So there you have it folks.  Really, do I need to say anything else except check out their other work.?  In a world where everything is prepackaged I eat this kind of design up.  A design that has been very skillfully and methodically crafted so that is stands apart from everything else.  Plus, it doesn't hurt that they obviously have a good budget to help realize those grand designs.

Have a great day everyone.

EASY PEAZY STRIPE UPDATE

For whatever reason, I have not been able to get as far on this as I had wanted to.  I was hoping that it would be nearly done so that I could get back to my little scarf and pattern and finish up my cable shrug and pattern.  I have hardly knit anything in the past couple of days. ARGHH!!  I am hoping to remedy that this evening and tomorrow.  I really want to get my scarf pattern up and running....
Here is what I have so far for the Easy Peazy Stripe Shawl:

This isn't the way I had originally intended for it to turn out, but, I think it looks OK so far.  Not bad considering what I had to work with.  I grabbed a bunch of balls when Zeller's was closing out.  I could only get one ball of the brown and red.  So I am having to make do.  I am hoping to get it done ASAP.
If you ever get a chance to knit with Red Hearts Eco Ways Bamboo Wool you won't be dissappointed.  It is such a nice yarn.  The colours are gorgeous, the hand or feel is really lovely and it has a great sheen.  On top of that it really does have great sturcture and stitch definition.  This yarn would be great knit in any textural stitch like garter, rib or seed stitch.  I think it would look especially great in seed stitch.  I also think this yarn would be great for a number of projects.  AND.... it states that you can felt it.  So this yarn is VERY versitile.  Yet, it isn't itchy like a regular wool.  I give this yarn two thumbs up!!!
I think I am going to start a rating system for yarn and use # balls to indicate how great it is.  Something to keep in mind........

Will keep you posted.....
Have a great day everyone.

RALPH LAUREN ISLAND BRIGHTS

Oh how I love bright and happy colours!!  They life the spirit and evoke an emotion-either good or bad.  Lets face it most people would never use bright and happy colours.  I see it all the time.  Now to be fair a lot of the colours like those in Ralph Lauren's Island Brights are not everyone's cup of tea.  And, to be quite honest most of us do NOT have the right light conditions so that the amazing colours can truly shine.  But for those of us that LOVE colour it is awesome to dream!!

Here are some of those amazing colours:

Baltic Blue IB27 Ralph Lauren

How amazing is this colour?  I would love to do this colour in a dining room either as the colour above wainscoting or as super high gloss, almost lacquer like with mouldings painted the same colour.  Such an awesome colour!!

Bicycle Yellow IB20 Ralph Lauren

In this pic of this amazing office/craft room is the awesome Bicycle Yellow by Ralph Lauren.  You should go and check out Kristin's website.  She always has such awesome inspiration by everyday people and the paint colours they have used in their home.  This is such a bright and lovely space to create in-don't you think?  And what makes it such a great space is that it is paired with tons of white.  A room that has been done right.
It is so not for the faint of heart but it is an amazing colour!!

Mai Tai IB10 Ralph Lauren

I so want to paint a room this colour.  It is full of life!!  And pairing it with a bright white- well look out my friends!!  Can''t get a more Nautical Red than this!

Racer Pink IB51 Ralph Lauren

This colour is not for the faint of heart.  It is a full on Pink with loads of magenta in it!  Very similar to one of the Pantone colours for fall 2012-Pink Flambe.

Big Sur Blue IB33 Ralph Lauren

Sunwashed Blue IB8 Ralph Lauren

How pretty is this colour with all the white and pink?? Love it!!

What is so amazing about these colours is that they are full on and saturated.  They truly are happy colours.

I have  a set of them myself that I collected some time ago and I am so glad that I did as you cannot get them here anymore.  And of course I made my own "fan deck" for them:

I showed how to make your own fan deck in a previous posting.  Super, duper easy.  Get yourself a hole punch and a large ring.  Easy Peazy!!  Don't you just love all those colours together- LIKE CANDY!!

Have a great day everyone

GREENGATE A LAMENT!!

If I could live in a Kitschy, Vintagey, 50's style life then I would be calling on Greengate to help me out.  You see...... Greengate out of Denmark is a wholesaler of home products with just that vibe.  Let me share some images with you so you can see what I am talking about.

I just love these colour together.  Stripes, Florals and Polka Dots---- Kitschy Heaven!!

And I know that I am not the only one inspired by Greengate:

Just look at this awesome Greengate inspired Crocheted Blanket.  Makes the old wheels turn in the brain to come up with a knitted one.... Hmmmm.....

Lovely Greengate inspired Pillow.  Gotta love the fabrics!!

For more Greengate inspiration visit Pinterest!!

My only problem with Greengate is that I can't get a hold of any of this stuff.  I would have to move back to England or move to Denmark, or Finland.  It would be an absolute dream to have a little shop and sell this gorgeous stuff along with my yarn of course---- Oh but a girl can dream, can't she??

Thanks for indulging me.......
Have a great day everyone!
