SCHUMACHER WALLPAPER & THE BLUES!

Hey Everyone....I came across this pic the other day and boy did it make me smile.  You may or may not have seen it, but either way......it makes me happy!!

This collection is Byzantium by Schumacher.  First of all.....that Blue.  Or should I say all those lovely blues-makes me want to squeal with Glee.  And I don't mean the show on TV!  Not crazy about the rug-love the colour NOT the texture.  I live in a Lego world my friends...would NOT be Lego friendly!  Back to the topic at hand.....Secondly....all those lovely patterns.  Thirdly......that Velvet Blue pillow in the middle of the Sofa....oh I could go on and on about this one my friends.  And of course the Ikat pillows..........

Look how amazing they are together.  It used to be years ago one would NEVER mix blues together....now it's as if one couldn't help but to mix.  By mixing blues it lends so much depth and interest.  To me it makes it feel beachy, fresh and vibrant.  I would have to say the mixing of blues is one of my favourite things...especially right now.

Here is an image also by Shumacher that mixes blues:

I just can't help but love the colour combo here.  The beautiful Aqua of the pool with the Navy of the tile band and of course the Royal of the Pillows.  So Fresh and Lovely.

Here again Schumacher has mixed a Darker Blue with Aqua...so fresh! And so graphic.

Just had a to share a little Blue with you all....
Have a great day everyone.

STAR WALLPAPER

Hey Everyone......I am a big fan of wallpaper.  I know that not everyone is....however, I LOVE IT!!   There are some wallpapers that scream...LOOK AT ME.  And there are others that are more subtle yet make just as big as an impression.......  Case in point:

Yes I know I am talking about this house AGAIN!!!  I can't help it.  This hallways makes me want to go out and buy this wallpaper.  I have always loved this wallpaper...it is a classic if there ever was one.

This amazing Kitchen Space was designed by the amazing Tommy Smythe.  The use of the star wallpaper in the cabinet is subtle genius.  It adds so much without screaming at you!  Can't say enough.

So what are some options for great Star Wallpaper;

If you want Period specific Wallpaper then Bradbury & Bradbury is your go to place.  Arts and Crafts, Victorian......you name it they have it.  It is all hand made and so lovely.

Osborne and Little

Isn't this lovely?  I honestly believe that this style of motif is timeless.  And it is not so overbearing that you would get tired of it.  A true Classic.

Nautical?  Patriotic?  Country?  I say yes to all.

But of course I want the RED star wallpaper found in either room pic as seen above.  I have searched for it...can't find it....but I will.  If anyone has any info on the two wallpapers used above....please pass it along.

Have a great day everyone.

VERA BRADLEY LOVE

Hey Everyone!  I think that I am becoming mildly obsessed with Vera Bradley.  I love the prints that they produce for their products.  But I really wish that they would make that great fabric available as is.  Oh the pillows, drapes or bedspreads I could make.

Speaking of Vera Bradley I came across this image:

Where do I even start?  The tone on tone wallpaper in that burnt red- could it be Farrow and Ball??.  The awesome green of the front doors.  The SHAPE of those said doors!!  That killer wallpaper in the front entryway- the Chiang Mai Dragon by Schumacher. The trim....the Chandelier....... The slipper chairs in that insane paisley fabric.......OYYY!!!!  Makes me want to redo the whole house to match.

Here is a close up of that wallpaper from the foyer:

I am not going to go into too much about it here as it has been blogged about everywhere.  Suffice it to say it looks amazing in that foyer area!!!

Here is another shot of that same store:

I am pretty sure that it is this wallpaper --Broad Stripe ST1316.  It is pretty friggin' awesome.  Anything stried is A OK in my book.

I just love all the sunny colours.  Do you think they would notice if I moved in??

What got me thinking about Vera Bradley was......I bought a really cute Ribbon Board yesterday at our local Value Village.  What caught my eye was the fabric-a great navy print.  And even from far away it looked like it hadn't ever been used.  When I got to it, I could see that it had indeed NEVER been used.  When I picked it up to look at the price on the back I saw that it was a Vera Bradley.  And you will never guess how much it was.... $4.99!  $4.99!  I snatched that puppy up quick.  Now I would have shown a pic here however it is so dull and gray here I can't get a great pic.  Hopefully in the next day or two I will be able to show you all.  But I couldn't wait to talk about it.  I mean those puppies usually go for at least $45.00.  And lets face it...I couldn't have bought the materials and made it for $4.99.  I tried to find a pic on the net to show but I couldn't find one with my fabric.

Anyways....Have a good one everyone.

SNEAK PEEK OFFICE IN A CLOSET

Just a quick posting today guys.  I am trying desperately to get my office in order.  Sorting through magazines, fabric, wallpaper etc.....
But I wanted to share with you a sneak peek at my office in a closet.  In our quirky little house we have 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bedrooms on the main floor.  One of those bedrooms we use as an office/guest room.  My main part of my office is in the closet.  I am lucky because it is a big closet and it is quite deep-which makes for a great working area.  I thought I would share with you a little peek at it until I get my act together and get it in tip top shape to completely share.
We wallpapered the interior closet walls with a big floral paper and painted the ceiling in a fuchsia that matched one of the colours in the paper.

I painted the ceiling a really great full on fuchsia - Benjamin Moore Blushing Red 2079-20.  I used it in the Aura line.  It went on really well and covered in 2 coats.  I just wanted something different up there-and it makes me smile every time I look up!!

Have a great day everyone!!

HE'S QUITE THE CRAFTSMAN!!

As I have stated previously, I am wanting to change a couple of things around the house.  One of those rooms is the dining room.  I want to add loads of character.  I have always been a huge fan of Craftsman style.  I love that it can be both traditional and modern in feel.  Although I don't plan to go full hog as it were, I do want to add trim in the form of baseboards, trim around the window/doors and high wainscoting to add that Craftsman feel.  If I were to go all out I would definitely be enlisting the help of Bradbury and Bradbury Wallpaper.  Have you seen this stuff?  I have been in love with their wallpaper for years.  Not only do they have Craftsman wallpaper but they also carry other design styles as well- Victorian and Art Deco.  They try to be as authentic as possible.  It is hand made and it is worth every penny my friends. If you are a big fan of William Morris you should check them out- STUNNING!! is all I can say!  Here are just a few examples of there gorgeous work:

If you are looking to do authentic Craftsman then Bradbury and Bradbury will be one route you will want to investigate.  Here are a few examples of rooms with their wallpaper in them:

Although we are not going the authentic route we are going to incorporate some nice details into our space.  Here is what we were thinking of doing:

I am especially fond of the middle pic.  I love the wainscoting, the trim, the RED!!  How I adore the red. I have wanted to incorporate Red in my dining room for like ever!!  So once the trim is up- Red on the upper part it will be.
These are just a few examples what we will be drawing inspiration on.  We will keep you posted with our progress.
Well..... that's all for now.  Have a great day everyone!

OH AMY!!

I LOVE Amy Butler designs.  I love her fabric, designs and wallpaper.  Came across some of her wallpaper today and it made me think of what I would do with this lovely gorgeousness.  Besides the designs themselves the colours are to die for:

I can't even put into words how happy this wallpaper makes me feel.  I especially liked the "Stone" and "Moss" colourways.
I thought that the wallpaper- "Fountain" in the Stone Colourway would look really great in my master bath!  Don't know if I can convince Hubs to go along- we'll see.  Here is a small mock up of what it may look like:

I am still getting used to photoshopping using GIMP, so bear with me until I get really good at it!  I LOVE this colourway and pattern.  What is so great about a pattern like this one is that it isn't too feminine and the colourway is really quite masculine.  Maybe that's why I love it!

I also fell for 2 other wallpapers that would look great in a room together:

Ceiling:

Wall:

I am especially inspired by the above wallpaper.  The colours are so fresh and alive.  Brings a little sunshine to my gray Canadian day!  I would love to use both of those in  my bedroom.  Don't think it will fly though!!  Can't blame a girl for trying!
Thats all for now everyone.  Have a great day.

FABRIC THAT MAKES ME HAPPY!!

Have you seen the new fabric from Designers Guild.  When I mean new I mean new for this last fall.  It is called Amrapali fabric.  All I can say is how happy it makes my heart.  And how it makes my heart smile.  I see fabric like this and I want to dance:

This one is called Lotus Flower printed on Linen and comes in 4 Colourways:

Another is Ottelia which is printed on Cotton:  also available in 4 colourways:

Another Fabric is Jacaranda and is printed on Silk: also in 4 colourways:

In addition here is another linen fabric called Adjuna printed on Linen:

Here is another Cotton fabric, it is called Anchala: available in the following:

And the final one is Amrapali printed on Linen:  available in 3 colourways:

I Love how vibrant these fabrics are.  They help to lift the mood of a girl stuck in a Canadian Winter.  The funny thing is our winter hasn't really been all that bad. Sigh!!!
Anyways.......  back to the eye candy!  These lovely patterns are also available in wallpaper!  Now I know it isn't for everyone but if you love pattern and colour, this is the company for you.  If you love to make a statement, these would sit up and say "HELLO PEOPLE".
Here is a room I "threw" together.  It was just really a chance for me to play with the computer to get used to photoshopping!  So here it is:

Hope you enjoyed a little eye candy.  Have a great day!
